Nintendo Switch Review: HellBlade Senua’s Sacrifice

What’s going on everyone.  BigMigz back again with another video game review for the Nintendo Switch.  Today, we are going to be taking a look at HellBlade: Senua’s Sacrifice developed and published by Ninja Theory Ltd.  Released on the Nintendo Switch on April 11th, 2019 for $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop Store.  Is it worth all the praises and awards this game is receiving? I am just going to come out the gate and say it.  This has got to be one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life as a gamer.  From the moment you embark on your journey, the story just pulls you in.  There is no way around it.  The game plays and looks beautifully on dock or handheld mode.  The music in the game just makes you crave more.  The battles you endure in the game never slows down.  And if you try to slow down, you will surely die and redo the battle again.  But be warned. When you lose a battle your skin will start to rot on your right arm.  Die enough times, and it will reach your head and you must do the whole journey all over again.  And if your are looking for puzzles, boy does this game cover that and then some. From puzzles hidden in shapes and shadows to hidden passage ways revealed through gate ways.  It has everything.  Overall it took me about 8 hours to complete and I was blown away.  The game will catch and reveal every emotion you never thought you had.

This game is best when wearing headphones.  Why you ask?  The game focuses on having voices help and guide you, but sometimes terrify you as well when you least expect it.  During your journey while the story is building,  you will start to hear voices.  Don’t panic.  You are not going crazy.  It is how the game is built.  It even warns you during the boot up of the game.  So if you think you are going to have a mental breakdown, do not play this game with headphones on.  But for those who want the full effect of the game and story. I 100% recommend to get your headphones, put them puppies on, and enjoy the wild and chaotic ride that the team at Ninja Theory Ltd. created for us to all to enjoy.

So, is HellBlade: Senua’s Sacrifice worth the $29.99 purchase on the Nintendo eShop?  You bet your bottom dollar it is.  In fact, it is a steal.  We now live in the days where Single Player games are a thing of the past.  With so little few in the wild being made.  This game reassures me, that we can have a single player game and enjoy every last ounce of it.  Coming out more than satisfied, but in awe of what was created.  I recommend this game to everyone.  Especially for those who believe the Single Player Game days are dead.  This will change your mind in a heartbeat.  This game gets a 9.9/10.

Free Year Of Nintendo Switch Online with Twitch Prime: Details Inside

 

     Whats going everyone.  BigMigz here back again to drop some serious helpful knowledge for all Nintendo Switch owners.  You can all now have the Nintendo Switch Online free for up to 12 Months as long as you are an Amazon Prime Member and linked your account to twitch.

     Here is how it works.  First you need to be an active amazon prime member.  If you are not, then you can sign up for a free 30 day trial.  Once you have that, go to twitch and sign up for an account which is free.  Once that is done, head over to twitchprime.com and connect the two accounts.  You will now have Twitch Prime.

     Now head to the main page where you will see a link to get your free membership of the Nintendo Switch Online.  Here is the catch.  Your first 3 months is free right now.  It will just ask you to sign into your Nintendo Account.  Once you do that, it will automatically add the 3 months to your Nintendo Switch account.  To get the other remaining 9 Months, you must remain an amazon prime member for more than 60 days.  Once you have done that, head back to twitchprime.com and claim the remaining 9 months to your account.  That’s it.  Its a hell of a deal if I do say so myself for any Nintendo Switch Owner.  So act now before it ends September 24th, 2019.  Take care everyone, and I hope this information is helpful to you all.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch Reveal Trailer (Inkling Revealed! – Nintendo Direct)

What’s up everyone, BigMigz back to give all Nintendo Switch owners some great news. As you see from the title above, Super Smash Bros was officially revealed today on Nintendo’s Direct.

Review: Earth Wars For The Nintendo Switch

What’s going on everyone, It’s BigMigz about to open your mind and hopefully your wallets on a MUST OWN Indie game called Earth Wars developed by One or Eight INC. for the Nintendo Switch.

As you can see from the screenshots above, it is a 2D animated sidescrolling hack and slash game. It has tons of RPGS elements implemented within Earth Wars, such as leveling up, crafting weapons and armor with materials dropped by your defeated foes. During your play through of the game, you will realize that this game is not going to be easy and you must level up your weapons and armor to even stand a chance to beat it. It is a fast paced action title that you will literally not want to put down. With so much to do for your character that you create at the start of the game and the action that takes place in each level, this game will have you hooked.

You start the game off in the year 2020, where the world has become a nest for the unknown organisms also known as the E.B.E. No current weapon appears to make any impact on the E.B.E leaving the humanity powerless, and on the brink of destruction. However, humanity has now got one last hope for survival with the development of bioarmor which fuses the E.B.E’s body tissue with metal. These are the Special Enhanced A.N.T.I troops who have incorporated this weaponry with remodeling surgery. With the power of the A.N.T.I,. humanity for the first time successfully destroys the E.B.E Baron Class. In the wake of this victory, humanity now has mounted a large scale counteroffensive. With the hopes of the new strength of the A.N.T.I

So after playing this game roughly ten plus hours since I got it yesterday, I am baffled at how amazing and fun this game looks and plays. With the amount of fighting and rpg style customization at your disposal you can easily spend most of you day playing Earth Wars and not realize how much the time has passed. What is even more crazy about Earth Wars is that, its available on the Nintendo Switch eShop store for only $4.50. Yes you read that correctly. For less than a meal at McDonalds, you can enjoy a beautiful action packed game on your Nintendo Switch is just delightful.

This game is a MUST OWN for any and every household. Nice story, wonderful artwork, and great fun for all ages. My only bad take on this game and its just me being picky, is that they speak Japanese. But don’t worry as its translated in English Subtitles. I give this game a 9/10 and definitely the BigMigz stamp of approval. NBA Playgrounds: Enhanced Edition Released Today for the Nintendo Switch

What’s up everyone.  It’s BigMigz, and I hope you guys had a great holiday season.  I sure did and I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Today I woke up with some great news to all who play and love NBA Playgrounds, but was fed up with not having the most up to date version like the Xbox One and PS4 had.  Well the wait is officially over.  The update has arrived as a whole new download, not a patched update as everyone wad waiting for.

Users should note this new edition of NBA Playgrounds is a standalone title separate from the original version of the game and must be downloaded independently through the Nintendo eShop (the upgraded edition can be identified by a golden frame around the game’s icon in the eShop). Players can safely delete the old version of NBA Playgrounds after downloading this upgraded edition but should be careful not to delete their existing game saves, which will be automatically converted and playable in the upgraded version of the title after installing.

Review: Mantis Burn Racing For The Nintendo Switch

Whats up everyone, BigMigz back with another review for you guys.  Today I’m going to drop some knowledge to you about a game that is a must own for all racing gamers and people who love fun non simulation racing.  Has a hint of nostalgia to it with the over top view that will make 80s and 90s babies go crazy for.  This game is called Mantis Burn Racing developed by Voofoo Studios.

This is simply one of the best pick up and play racing game you can enjoy especially on the Nintendo Switch.  Lets start off with how fun career mode is.  You start off with the Renegade car and with each race of the season you gain parts and money to buy other vehicles or install upgrades to your current vehicle and pay to level them up.  When you level up the vehicles it changes the overall look of it as well.  The vehicles range from stocky cars like the renegade, big old bulldozing trucks, or lighter vehicles that wreak havoc with their speed.  When you reach the elite level you will unlock vehicles that soar through the air ala F-Zero.  Each season its gets tougher and tougher, but I found my self more hooked than ever while advancing through the seasons.  Every win felt gratifying.  Then we have 9 other modes from knockout to the time trials that with the arcade style mixed with the overhead look and tracks, made me feel like I was a kid again at the arcades feeding the machine quarters battling for the top spot.  The game ran so smooth and looked great on dock mode and in handheld mode.  And it’s true what Voofoo Studios said.  The visuals are something to admire.  The environments on the tracks and the vehicles are breath taking on the switch.  You would have though it was a main stream game and not an Indie Game.  The Online experience was great and games ran silky smooth with no lag.

Whether you like to play alone against the cpu or online against other players.  Or love to have game night with your friends and family, make no mistake about it, you will have  the time of your life playing this game.  Its been a real pleasure reviewing Mantis Burn Racing.  Since I had so much fun playing,  It makes my review so easy to write and such a pleasure to give it a 9/10 and the BigMigz Stamp of Approval.  With a company promising more DLC in the future, this game looks like its going to be a real steal for $19.99 and well worth the price of admission.  I hope you guys enjoyed this review and as always like, share and comment below your thoughts on the review as well as Mantis Burn Racing.  I hope everyone has a great Christmas and I will see you back here soon.  Take Care

Review: Splasher, For The Nintendo Switch. THIS IS A MUST OWN!

What’s up everyone, Its BigMigz about to drop some crazy knowledge for you guys on A MUST OWN game from Playdius called Splasher.  I’m telling you right now this game is easily one of the top games on the Nintendo Switch.  Not even Indie Games, I’m talking main stream games as well.  This game is that damn good.

As you guys can see from the screenshots above, this game has a real cartoon art style with very punchy colors that just literally pops out of your tv screen.  It might remind you of some platform games of the past such as Rayman.  And that is for good reason.  You see, this game is the first independent project of Roman Claude, who was the Game Designer and Level Designer at Ubisoft for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.  He teamed up with Richard Vatinel, who was the Art Director.  Aymeric Schwartz who was the Composer and Sound Designer.  Schwartz also worked on Rayman Origins.  Splasher was developed in partnership with SpeedRunners.

Here is the story from the Splash-Team Themselves:

” The Splashers are in great danger!  The quiet and peaceful workers from Inkorp are being led to their doom by the greedy Docteur, the paint factory’s evil boss.  A young hero rises to fight for what’s right. Armed with a splatter cannon, he launches an attack in order to save the Splashers and stand up to the dictator .  His amazing paint cannon grants him color superpowers; he can stick to the wall, bounce, or attack enemies.”

Now that is just the story side of things.  This game has multiple levels, 22 to be exact, of platforming goodness.  Each level you must rescue 6 of your fellow splashers.  And once you have done that, there are Time Attack & SpeedRun Modes.  You can share your time with all the gamers on the Splasher Leaderboards.

Everyone asks me, ” Migz, why are you so amped about Splashers? ”  Answer is simple.  The game is that much fun to play.  The platforming is so smooth and seamless.  So fast, that sometimes I have to slow down because I tend to go just a little too fast to beat other gamer times on the leaderboards.  The different types of paint in your Splatter Cannon changes how you play.  For instance, the red paint is to get things or even your self stuck onto walls, ceilings, or floors.  The Yellow is used for bouncing around.  And finally what appears to be water is used to clean up the splatter or be used as an attack on your enemies.  Each level surprised me with new ways to think and maneuver around so I can save all the splashers.  There is even warp holes that will transport you to a bonus part of the level to rescue another of your fellow splashers.  So far im 15 hrs in and im still having so much fun each time I play.  Whether it’s to rescue splashers I didn’t before on the first play, or trying to beat a top score on the leaderboards,  This game literally is a Gem.

Everyone reading this, if you don’t have this game in your library, you need to own it asap.  STOP reading this and purchase it.  Trust me you will not regret it.  For $14.99 on the eShop this game is an absolute steal.  With all the great artwork, the music, the seamless silky smooth platforming that this game gives you whether its on docked or portable mode, this game will have you hooked and make you wonder why you didn’t own it when it first was released.  I give this a 9.5/10 and the BIGMIGZ stamp of approval.  Only reason why I didn’t give this Indie Gem a perfect 10 is because I’m very picky and there is always room for improvement.  I would love to see DLC added in the future.  I hope you guys enjoyed this review.  Like, share and comment below and let me know your thoughts on this game if you own it or plan on owning it soon.  Take Care

Review: Riptide GP: Renegade For The Nintendo Switch

What’s going on everybody.  It’s BigMigz about to drop some knowledge for you guys on Riptide GP: Renegade for the Nintendo Switch by Vector Unit. The first in its racing series to be featured on consoles.  Is it a must pick up for this holiday season for your Switch?  Lets find out.

RipTide GP: Renegade takes place in a futuristic world where riders are taking hydro jet racing to a whole new level.  Death defying stunts off of massive waves and I’m talking huge waves here people.  Waterfall stunts at ultra high speeds trying to outrun cops are a thrill within itself.  The game offers a career mode, multiplayer split screen mode so you can race your friends and family, and yes online multiplayer as well although I couldn’t test the latter.  More on that later.

This game really brings me back to the good old days of the Jet Moto series and that is a great thing.  I was so tired of the same old racing games, I wanted a change from same thing over and over again.  Thankfully Renegade brings just that for me on the Switch.  I was absolutely glued to my TV as soon I entered the in depth career mode.  You start with the most basic of basics Hydro Jets but as you win and start building up some cash and xp, you can upgrade the vehicle or even unlock more faster Jets and even players along the way.  You can also customize the vehicle with different paint jobs and decals as well as choose your favorite number.  You will also unlock even more stunts as you progress as well.  As you race, your vehicle even transforms. It’s a real nice added visual treat to the game.  While you are racing, you must do stunts that will build up your boost meter as it is key to winning the race.  This game is not a walk in the park by any means, so make the stunts your best friend.  Multiplayer split screen was a blast with my family.  The gameplay was smooth with zero hiccups while on dock mode and was visually stunning, especially coming from the mobile industry.

But like most games, not everything is sunshine and rainbows.  There was a few bugs I think should be addressed with a patch to make this game even more enjoyable.  The first issue I had was I could not get the online mode to function at all.  I literally waited almost 30 minutes but nobody would join my lobby or match.  Now I thought, ok maybe its because the game is brand new but my friend who bought the game from the eShop was also having the same issues and couldn’t get an opponent.  So for online multiplayer it was a complete no go for me.  The other issue I had was, while it played beautifully smooth on dock mode, I wish I could say the same on portable mode.  Yes its playable unlock other games on the switch ( cough cough WWE 2k18 ) , the frames do drop when there is a lot of things going on such as weather or multiple racers on the screen at once.  These things I think could definitely be fixed with a patch, so I’m having high hopes Vector Unit.

So with everything said about Riptide GP: Renegade,  is it a game to own for this holiday season?  I have to say yes.  The good far outweigh the bad in this game.  Its enjoyable to play and you will have hours of fun customizing and racing Hydro Jets on your Switch.  Available on the eShop for $9.99 its a great purchase and well worth the price.  I give RipTide GP: Renegade 7.5/10 in its current status.  Its also available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Steam, Windows 10, Amazon, iOS and Google Play stores.  I hope you guys enjoyed this review.  Share, like and comment below and let me know what you think.  As always folks, Take Care.

Review: Letter Quest Remastered For The Nintendo Switch

What’s going on everyone.  It’s BigMigz about to drop some serious knowledge on you guys.  Today I’m going tell you guys about a great fun Indie Game for the whole family.  If you guys love words with friends , scrabble or anything that has to do with puzzles with words, this is seriously the game for you.  I’m talking about Letter Quest Remastered by Bacon Bandit Games.

In a game where words are your weapons.  You play as Grim Reapers, Grimm or Rose, as you battle monsters in each of the 40 levels in the game.  As you progress to more difficult levels, you have to upgrade your character by leveling up their weapons, armor, and even books.  The name of the game is basically you taking 15 random letters and try to spell a variety of words to take down the monsters. The longer the word, the more powerful the attack.  You can even mix different typed of letter tiles to attack the monsters with poison, spike, plagues among others to make your attack even more powerful.  But be careful as the monsters can heal or drop poison tiles that if not used in the amount of turns, you can get poisoned and they will defeat you.

After having this game for almost a week,  I have to say this is a must own for anyone.  Game night with your family or just playing alone, this game is very addicting and really works your brain.  Nothing comes easy in this game which makes every completed level feel satisfying.  The artwork is simply amazing.  The colors pop right out of your screen in beautiful HD.  The soundtrack in the game will get you humming the themes when you are out and about without you even knowing it.  Very catchy tunes.  And if you are ever done with the 40 difficult levels which by the way has 4 difficulty levels of stars, there is an Endless Mode where you battle all the way until you are defeated battling for the Hi-Score on the leaderboards.  You choose your Reaper, music, weapon, background and tiles and have it.   A lot of fun especially with friends and family going at it seeing who knows the most words and especially how to use the specialty tiles to their advantage.

Whether you are playing alone or with friends or family, you will definitely love the game and see how fast the time flies trying to make words even you never knew existed.  A nice little feature I love is how when you complete a word, on the bottom left screen displays the definition of it.  Letter Quest Remastered is a treat that even your kids will love to play and not realize there actually learning at the same time.  Available for the Nintendo Switch on the eShop at $14.99 but if you get it before December 28th, its $10.04 .  This is a must buy for anyones collection.  I give it a 9/10 and the BigMigz Stamp of Approval.  Hope you guys enjoyed this review.  Please leave a comment below and share the article with your friends and love ones.  Take Care.

Nintendo Switch Review for Pankapu : The DreamKeeper

What’s going on everyone, Its BigMigz back at it again.  I told you I would be back in a few hours lol.  I’m about to drop this knowledge on a great Indie Game called Pankapu developed by Too Kind Studio currently for the Nintendo Switch, Steam, PS4 and XboxOne for $11.99 which I have to say is a steal for this game.

As you can see from the screenshots of this game, the artwork is nothing short of amazing.  As I was playing through the game, I was caught just stopping just to admire how amazing the artwork translated on the switch.  Whether it was on dock mode or handheld mode you will not be short handed when it comes to the graphics and presentation style of Pankapu.  It’s a 2D style action/platformer which as they say is a tribute to the 90’s era with the way the game plays and even has little hidden secrets.  They have done exactly that in this game as it feels very nostalgic and triggered many memories of when I had a Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo as a kid with a nice bump up in the visuals department.

The game is about Djaha’Rell, a child whose nights are regularly troubled by nightmares. In order to overcome his fears, his father tells him the story of Pankapu, the Dreamkeeper. You will take part in a dual narration of both the dreams and real life of Djaha’Rell which is dark and tragic in its own write.  Transforming yourself from 3 different types of Aegis such as being a Warrior, a Mage, or even an Archer throughout the game.  The game has a very good RPG style to it as well as you can upgrade your character throughout Pankapu.  You can infuse your weapons and make them even stronger to battle the tougher opponents throughout the game.  And I will say this you, you will need to do so as this game gets challenging over the course of play.

From the moment I started playing Pankapu, I was immediately hooked and for a game that costs just $11.99, you will get your money’s worth and then some with over 15 hours of gameplay and even more if you are like me and love to complete games 100%.  I would definitely recommend everyone to check this game out.  You will not regret it.  9/10 and a Hidden Indie Gem in your virtual stores across the board.  Hope you guys enjoyed this review and even more than that, I hope you enjoy Pankapu as much as I did.  Leave your comments below and share the article with all your friends.  See you guys real soon.  Take Care.
